Dear Parents

We all had a wonderful day at Cragside on Tuesday – it was truly magical. The children found so many signs of Autumn, as well as finding out about hydro-electricity. It is a wonderful resource on our doorstep, and now that we are members of the National Trust, one we can exploit fully.

Half-term is beginning to loom large on the horizon, however, before that we have parent interviews (please see attached appointment slip if you have made an appointment), Victorian Day (22nd October) and the Harvest Service (25th October).

Mrs Kornau will be providing a soup and bread lunch (or Jacket Potato) followed by Apple Crumble and Ice Cream on the day of the Harvest Service. Please complete and return the slip below as soon as possible if you would like to order a lunch.

I do have a change to our calendar – the planned film club of 29th November has been moved to the 15th November – Children in Need Day (we will arrange for the Holy Island children to be brought over that day so that they can take part). The theme for Children in Need (for us) is ‘Pantomime’. This is an opportunity to dress your child up as a Pantomime Character and help to raise funds for ‘Pudsey Bear’. It will be a non-uniform day with all donations collected passed onto Children in Need. The day will be extended with an after school Film Club until 5.30pm. It is an ideal opportunity for some extended retail therapy prior to the arrival of the “man in the red suit”. More details will follow after half term.

Plea from the PTA – any donations from Marks and Spencer for the hamper for the Autumn Fair would be very gratefully received as well as items for the Tombola (please could you check the use by dates on any items donated). Many thanks.
